University and society

The University of Florence is committed to implementing projects to make the results of research available to civil society with a view to mutual benefit and through activities of co-creation and dialogue with communities and territories. It offers initiatives such as: meetings, exhibitions, workshops, concerts and shows, contests, popular publications, and activities to involve high schools.

The University of Florence permanently promotes these initiatives throughout the year in partnership with other public and private institutions in the area. This goal and the set of actions are described by the expression Public Engagement. The University is a member of the APEnet network, the Italian association of universities and research institutions that recognize the role and importance of the values and actions of Public Engagement.
