If you want to change your programme of study within the University of Florence, without loosing the course already taken, you must make a transfer, you can move from one programme of study to another, as long as it is active in the current academic year.

The application can be submitted via online services (according to the deadlines indicated in the calendar), after which it is subject to an additional administrative fee.

With the application you will receive the evaluation of the exams undertaken.

If you want to transfer to a degree programme with restricted access, you will have to follow the instructions and deadlines indicated in the call for applications, available on the national or local restricted access programme webpages.

If you want to continue studying at another university without loosing the course already taken, you must make an incoming or outgoing transfer.

With the application you will receive the evaluation of the exams undertaken and any recognition in the new course of study.

If you want to transfer to a degree programme with restricted access, you will have to follow the instructions and deadlines indicated in the call for applications, available on the national or local restricted access programme webpages.

The career abbreviation allows you to enrol by requesting recognition of exams taken in a previous career.

You can request the abbreviation for:

• Academic qualifications obtained at Italian universities
• Academic qualifications obtained at foreign universities
• Exams taken in a previous career that was terminated due to withdrawal or forfeiture

During the online enrolment procedure, you can select the “abbreviazione di carriera (career abbreviation)” option and attach the richiesta di valutazione degli esami (assessment of previously exams).

After enrolment, you will will receive information about recognition of activities in the new programme.

The application for enrolment with career abbreviation can be submitted according to the deadlines indicated in the calendar of deadlines. In addition to the enrolment fees, there is a fee for the assessment of exams (30 euros).

The procedures and terms for the career abbreviation procedure for admission to years after the first of programmes with restricted access are regulated by the relevant calls for applications.

The University of Florence, within its autonomy and legal system, without prejudice to bilateral agreements on the subject (see Manifesto), may recognize cycles and periods of study carried out abroad and foreign qualifications and academic qualifications for the continuation of university studies and/or the achievement of Italian university degrees.

Information on access to First Cycle and Single Cycle degree programmes, access to Second Cycle degree programmes and certificates of comparability and authenticity issued by CIMEA. 

This withdrawal (rinuncia) procedure is for students who want to terminate their studies definitively.

The suspension (sospensione) procedure is for students who want to temporarily suspend the career in conjunction with another enrolment in specific study activities.

The interruption (interruzione) and reunification (ricongiungimento) procedure is for students who do not renew their enrolment for two or more consecutive academic years, when they resume their studies, there is a reduced fee for each year. In the event of the birth of a child or serious reasons, this benefit also applies for a single year of interruption.
