The University of Florence confirms its place in the 2023-2024 international rankings published by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR). Unifi ranks seventh nationally, as in the previous survey, and 267th worldwide.
As compared to last year, the 2023-2024 edition has broadened the range of academic elements assessed, from 20,531 in the previous ranking to 20,966 this year. The score achieved by Unifi places the university in the top 1.3% and makes it one of the world's top 300 universities.
The CWUR ranking is based on seven indicators. Of these, the first two are proportional to university size and concern the quality of the education provided (i.e. the number of graduates achieving major academic qualifications) and the employment rate (assessed on the basis of the number of graduates holding top positions in the world's best companies). The evaluation also covers teaching quality (measured by the number of academics winning international awards) and research performance (ranked by the total number of published articles, the quantity of publications in top-ranked and highly influential journals, the number of frequently cited articles).
