Fulbright Programme

It is the most important US international cultural exchange programme. It operates in more than 155 world countries; along 60 years, more than 294,000 participants have received a Fulbright scholarship for study, research or teaching in the USA and in the participating countries. Each year around 7500 Fulbright scolarships are awarded in the world.

In Italy, the Italy-USA cultural exchange programme is managed by the Fulbright Commission, a binational body, established jointly by the Italian and US Governments. The Commission promotes the academic exchanges between Italy and the USA; it offers Italian and US citizens scholarships for post-graduating programmes, research stays and teaching periods at universities and research centres in the USA and Italy.

The programme offers opportunities to citizens and universities:

  • Scholarships for Italian citizens for study projects, research and teaching in the best US universities
  • Opportunities for universities to favour academic internationalisation of universities and Italian research centres

The University, together with the Fulbright Commission, regularly organises info events regarding the opportunities offered by the Fulbright Programme for study, research and teaching in the USA.
