Quality of Research and Third Mission

The Quality Assurance (QA) system of universities has the purpose of monitoring the conditions of carrying out research activities, i.e. establishing the research objectives to be pursued, implementing what is necessary to achieve them, removing - wherever possible - any obstacles, observing the regular performance of the planned activities and verifying the degree of actual achievement of the objectives.

Research evaluation has become a strategic and increasingly important tool for measuring the quality of universities, proportionally affecting the distribution of resources and the allocation of staff points by the Ministry.

The University constantly monitors the scientific production of its professors and researchers, guaranteeing transparency to them also through the support of IT tools that allow analysis, review and evaluation activities useful for continuous improvement.

The Departments are responsible for establishing, declaring and effectively pursuing appropriate research quality and third mission policies aimed at achieving their vision of research quality and third mission in line with the University's policies.

Departmental Annual Report (RADip)

The Departmental Annual Report is the essential tool for defining the strategic guidelines and departmental policies for QA in Teaching, Research and Third Mission, monitoring the results achieved and identifying the objectives for the following year/three-year period.

With the aim of highlighting the essential aspects and elements of the Quality Assurance (QA) system, the Report offers a summary presentation of the Department in terms of organization, activities and available resources and reports the essential elements of the self-assessment process with reference to its activity and objectives.

The Reports must be approved by the Department Council before being transmitted to the Evaluation Committee, the Quality Committee and the Academic Senate.
