Placement, a pathway to get to know companies closely

Registration extended for participation in BiGin

The deadline to participate in the next BiGin, the workshop course aimed at University of Florence members to interface with local companies, has been extended to 31 July.

BiGin allows students to come into direct contact with the labour market, discover its internal dynamics and the importance of developing soft skills. It also offers the opportunity to understand how organisations and companies work, not only from a formal point of view, but also from the perspective of human relations and interactions.

The lectures, starting on Friday 27 September, are co-led by business and academic lecturers. Team building activities and company visits are also planned. The course concludes with the drafting and subsequent discussion of project work to be carried out in groups.

The three-month workshop is free of charge and will be held in Florence, at the Baker Hughes Florence Learning Center (via de’ Perfetti Ricasoli 78) and at the University’s First Lab (via Lelio Torelli 2). Thirty places are available: students from any degree course who have completed at least 80 ECTS for bachelor’s degrees or 40 ECTS for master’s degreescan apply.

Individual interviews will take place from mid-June and throughout July. Information on registration, the programme and the calendar can be found online.

BiGin is a project promoted by ACSI - Association for Industrial Culture and Development, a non-profit organisation founded in 2020 by five major international companies and the University of Florence. ACSI now has fifteen members and since 2021 has been running the BiG Academy, a high-level training course designed to strengthen the skills of managers, corporate teams and freelancers. BiGin was born out of the experience and network of companies that developed around the Academy.
