UNICORE, the Unifi welcomes refugee students

Scholarships for enrolment in second cycle degree programmes taught in English

Unifi renews the participation in the UNICORE – University corridors for Refugees project, an initiative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) that offers refugee students the opportunity to continue their academic career in Italy, attending a second cycle degree program in English.

New calls for scholarships are open for 37 Italian universities participating in the 7th edition of the project. Scholarshipsare reserved for 67 students currently refugees in Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

The University of Florence, member of the UNHCR project since 2020, is offering 2 scholarships and reception services to refugee students enroling in unrestricted second cycle degree courses in English for the academic years 2025/26 and 2026/2027.

Deadline 18 April.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit and motivation and will arrive in Italy in September.

UNICORE collaborates with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Caritas Italiana, Diaconia Valdese and Centro Astalli. The University is also supported locally by the Diaconia Valdese-CSD and Giorgio La Pira International Student Center.
